Lights, Camera, Action

Lights, Camera, Action is a series of images that showcase fashion and glamour without the inclusion of real clothing. The goal of this exhibition is to bring a new take to fashion photography, creating something that the viewer has never seen before. These images hold an element of mystery, creating an illusion for the audience, as it is not quite clear what the clothes are actually made from. This glamorous apparel was contrived by the photoshopping of LED lights that not only create interesting shapes and lines throughout the series but also build a great deal of texture as well. The use of light and positioning of the model is important as it is what truly portrays movement in these still images.

Urban Escape

Urban Escape exhibits a collection of fashion-inspired images exploring feelings of isolation that have transpired as a result of the global pandemic. This series of images are set in abandoned locations to represent the loneliness caused by this separation from society. These stylized models are indicative of an escape from this reality into the world of fashion, where one can feel confident and free. Ultimately, this piece acts as a juxtaposition between the models and their surroundings, emphasizing the wants and desires of so many within isolation.

Stairway to Nowhere

This piece plays off of the idea of being all dressed up with nowhere to go. Due to the current pandemic, many have been feeling lost not being able to leave the house and do simple day to day activities. Sticking to my fashion roots, I used clothing as a way to express the desire for having a reason to get dressed and go somewhere. Here, each model is shown on a staircase, which traditionally represents direction and movement. However, I chose to use stairs to show a sense of stillness. This was done by frame the images in a way that makes it unknown where the stairs start and end further pushing the idea of having nothing to do and nowhere to go.

Bubbles

This series of images is meant to be a commentary on the beauty expectations placed upon women in society today. Here each model is representing a completely different mood, as they each portray an Idea that women are faced with on a day to day basis. The three categories that you see here are: Expectation, Self-conscious, and Vulnerability.

Fabric Light

This piece is meant to focus on forms of light. Here, I used long exposures to create an added texture that makes light resemble thin fabric blowing in different formations. The piece focuses greatly on how light and color effect each image in a different way.

Princeton Battle Field

This series of images is meant to capture the essence of the monuments that still stand at the Princeton Battle Field. On this land took place one of the fiercest battles of the American Revolution. The monuments shown here still stand in the same place to this very day. My goal was to bring light to a potentially forgotten piece of American history.
